There are several parks near James Island real estate. Dock Street Park is located at the end or Patterson Ave. and offers a fishing dock, swings, a picnic area, and benches. The town also acquired 7.37 acres on a tributary of Parrot Creek for Pinckney Park. Current amenities include a playground, open space, trails, and parking. The town is also planning to build a pedestrian/bicycle connection, a creek crossing, picnic shelter with restroom, living fence, outdoor classroom with amphitheater, and a multi-purpose building. It will be an exciting addition when everything is finished. ames Island also has a partnership with the City of Charleston for children to participate in youth sports at the resident rate.

There is a new Town Hall on James Island and The Town Market is a fun event that takes place there the last Friday of every month from May through September. There are vendors and food trucks at the market as well as a movie that starts at dusk. It is a fun time for the community to come together. Find a James Island home in one of many neighborhoods, just a few to choose from are White Point Estates, Stiles Point Plantation, Eastwood, Harborwoods, Seaside Plantation, and Parrot Creek. Golfers can play at the nearby Country Club of Charleston or Charleston Municipal Golf Course and families also enjoy spending time at James Island County Park.
